On September 27, ISL hosted a successful Green Innovation Development Forum and Achievement Promotion Conference aimed at building a world-class salt lake industry base. The event attracted over 150 participants, including representatives from the Qinghai Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Haixi Prefecture, industrial parks, universities, research institutions, service organizations, and enterprises.
Under the theme “Collaborating for Success,” the conference featured keynote presentations from leading experts at ISL, the Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Qinghai University, the Comprehensive Geological and Mineral Exploration Institute of the Qaidam Basin, and Tianjin University. Topics discussed included “Green Utilization Technology for Salt Lake Resources,” “Advancements in Lithium Resource Recycling,” “Molecular Design and Applications of High-Efficiency Adsorption Separation Materials,” “Mineralization Patterns and Models of Paleogene-Neogene Structures in the Central and Western Qaidam Basin,” and “Industrial Crystallization and Refining Technology.” The discussions aimed to identify innovative pathways for the salt lake industry and promote green, low-carbon, and high-quality development.
During the conference, the Haixi Prefecture People's Government and ISL signed a strategic cooperation agreement. This partnership will focus on high-quality development strategies for the salt lake industry, addressing major scientific and technological challenges, and facilitating the transfer and transformation of scientific achievements. Both parties aim to establish a new model of “mutual benefit and win-win” cooperation between government and research institutions, further advancing the construction of a world-class salt lake industry base.
Xu Chun, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Qinghai Provincial Department of Science and Technology, highlighted the province's commitment to implementing President Xi Jinping's directives for Qinghai. He emphasized the proactive response to the national innovation-driven development strategy, which supports the development of new productive forces through technological innovation, thereby providing robust support for the rapid construction of a world-class salt lake industry base. Yuan Tingyun, Deputy Governor of Haixi Prefecture, discussed the critical role of Haixi in this initiative and shared insights on the current achievements in building a world-class salt lake industry base.
Zheng Shili, Deputy Director of ISL, stressed the importance of focusing on primary responsibilities and aligning with the national strategic mission of scientific and technological advancement. He underscored the urgency of accelerating the construction of a world-class salt lake industry base, overcoming key technological hurdles, and collaborating with leading enterprises to foster deep integration of production, education, research, and application, thus driving the high-quality development of the salt lake industry.
The forum were guided by the Qinghai Provincial Department of Science and Technology and the Haixi Prefecture People's Government, with co-organization by the Qinghai Provincial Technology Transfer Center, ISL, the Haixi Prefecture Science and Technology Bureau, the Qinghai Provincial Productivity Promotion Center Co., Ltd., and the Qinghai Chemical and Materials Society, among others.
