On July 20th, a seminar on the protection and utilization of salt lake resources was organized in ISL. The meeting sorted out the major development directions in this field and its expected landmark achievements, and jointly planned to build a national key laboratory, and at the same time promoted its inclusion in the national important science and technology plan.
The leaders and experts from Science and Technology Promotion and Development Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, State Key Laboratory System Reorganization Special Work Office, Institute of Process Engineering, the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Institute of Metals, Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Process, Dalian Chemical Physics, Qinghai Provincial Science and Technology Department and ISL attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Wu Zhijian, director of Qinghai Salt Lake Institute.
Wu Zhijian reported on the construction plan (discussion draft) of the State Key Laboratory of Salt Lake Resources Conservation and Utilization from six aspects: necessity and significance, construction goals, research directions and key tasks, restructuring measures, talent team, and condition platform. He pointed out that ISL has obvious advantages in the national key experiment on the protection and utilization of salt lake resources, but there are also shortcomings. He also thanked the relevant departments of Chinese Academy of Sciences and sister units, the relevant leaders of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology and the departments for their strong support to the work of ISL. On behalf of the Department of Science and Technology, Director Qu Wenrong, Director of the Policy, Regulations and Basic Research Division of the Qinghai Provincial Department of Science and Technology, put forward opinions and suggestions on the construction plan of the State Key Laboratory, pointing out that the construction of a national innovation platform requires the integration of resources and multiple forces, giving full play to their respective advantages to jointly build a national-level platform .
Participants at the meeting expressed their opinions and suggestions on the construction goals, orientation layout, talent introduction and other construction plans of the key laboratory based on their own advantages, as well as the major national tasks, and expressed their full support and cooperation with ISL in completing the construction of the national key laboratory. Finally, Wu Zhijian clarified the division of tasks for the construction of the State Key Laboratory and deployed the next step.
