Professor Wang Min was invited to give a report at the 19th “Qinghai Fair Salt Lake Resources Comprehensive Utilization Forum”

Time:2018-06-29

On June 27th, the 19th "Qinghai Fair Salt Lake Resources Comprehensive Utilization Forum" was held in Xining. The forum closely focused on the theme of “focusing on salt lakes to create an ecological magnesium lithium pottery garden”, bringing together the wisdom and strength of experts and scholars to further promote the strategic base of the comprehensive utilization industrial cluster of Haixi 100 billion salt lake resources and the construction of innovative highlands.

At the forum, Professor Wang Min of ISL was invited to participate in the conference and gave a keynote speech entitled "Comprehensive Development and Utilization of Lithium Resources in China". The report introduces the background and significance of lithium resource development, the status of lithium resource development in the world, and the development of related technologies through a large amount of detailed data. In the report, Wang Min pointed out that the salt lakes in Qinghai are rich in resources. After decades of efforts, the development and utilization of salt lake resources have achieved remarkable results. In particular, in recent years, the lithium in salt lakes has also achieved fruitful results, and it is proposed to build a billion yuan lithium industry. The base economic strategy has accelerated the development of China's lithium industry. At present, the global lithium resources are mainly distributed in Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, the United States, China and other countries, of which liquid lithium ore (mainly salt lake brine) accounts for about 80%, lithium products are also widely used in batteries, aerospace, medicine, nuclear energy, , refrigeration, lubrication, etc. With the development of the new energy market, the production capacity and output of the lithium industry have increased year by year. As a research unit specializing in the comprehensive development, utilization and industrialization of potassium, lithium, magnesium and boron resources in salt lakes, ISL has created a scientific method and mature technology for lithium extraction from high-magnesium lithium than salt lake brines, in order to promote the development of salt lake lithium industry.
