The Key Laboratory of Salt Lake Resources Chemistry of Qinghai Province held the 2018 Academic Committee Meeting and Strategy Seminar

On March 25th, the Key Laboratory of Salt Lake Resources Chemistry of Qinghai Province held the 2018 Academic Committee Meeting and Strategy Seminar. Leaders, experts and scholars from the Science and Technology Department of Qinghai Province, Qinghai University, Qinghai University for Nationalities, Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Lanzhou University of Technology and Salt Lake Co., Ltd. were invited to attend the meeting.

The meeting was chaired by Professor Wu Zhijian, Director of the Academic Committee. Professor Wang Min, director of the Key Laboratory of Salt Lake Resources Chemistry, introduced the construction of the laboratory in 2018 and the work plan for 2019. Then, Associate Professor Zhou Yongquan, Associate Professor Liu Zhong, and Associate Professor Li Ying gave a lecture titled “Opportunities and Challenges in Solution Structure Research”, “Basic Research and Prospects of Salt Lake Inorganic Adsorbents” and “Research Status and Development Direction of Magnesium Cementitious Materials”. Finally, Professor Wu Zhijian analyzed the current technical bottlenecks of green development, increasing the yield of rare elements and extending the service life of resources by the perspective of global salt lake resource development. He hopes to boost the construction of the 100 billion yuan lithium industry base in Qinghai Province, implement the “One Belt, One Road” strategy, and promote the research and development results to the development and application of resources in foreign salt lakes, and encourage the young and middle-aged backbone to become the main force of salt lake science and technology innovation.
