ZHANG Xian'en, director-general of Department of Basic Research ofMinistry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China(MOST), et al, surveyed at ISL with respect to the institute's research planning, research disciplines and scopes on July 28th 2011.
ISL Deputy Director JIA Youliang firstly introduced the background for ISL's establishment, and made a report on the institute's key disciplinary areas, main research interests, and exploration, development and utilization of salt lake resources. He emphasize that ISL is the only base institution specialized in fundamental, applied fundamental and high-tech researches in geosciences, chemistry and chemical engineering of salt lakes and related fields.
During the inspection, ZHANG Xian'en hopes that the institute will make a further carding of its scientific achievements, successively enhance its own innovativeness, break through technical issues, cater to national and market needs, and boost the industrialization of projects. ISL researchers attended the meeting and exchanged their ideas on the technical issues, alternatives of solutions, and the prospects of industrialization for some particular projects.
