Lecture: From the Lakeshores of Tibet, Shoreline Archives of Paleoprecipitation
US Scientists John Olsen,as well as their three postgraduates from University of Arizona paid an academic visit to ISL for an exchange on June 28th, at the invitation of Prof. LAI Zhongping.
On June 28th afternoon, Prof. John Olsen delivered lecture on "From the Lakeshores of Tibet: Shoreline Archives of Paleoprecipitation". This report aroundhigh water lake levels research in southern Tibet, it is emphatically introduced about the change of high water lake levels from the space and time dimensions on southern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau influenced by Indian monsoon, and relationship with paleoprecipitation and Indian monsoon.
Prof. John Olsen is a well-known ancient archaeologist, and devoted himself to archaeological studies on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the surrounding areas of our country more than 10 years. The audience includes some research staffs and students of ISL, and postgraduates from Northwest Institute of Plateau Biology, CAS and Qinghai Normal University (QHNU).
