Qinghai Institute of Salt Lakes (ISL) is a Chinese research organization engaged in interconnected endeavors of theoretical original innovation and technological innovation and integration, and fostering talents with high caliber, in the fields of salt lake science and industry, with an integrated combination of salt lake chemistry and chemical engineering, and salt lake geosciences, that feature the encapsulation of salt lake microscopic and macroscopic, fundamental applied and applied studies. Currently, ISL is the only comprehensive institution specialized in fundamental theoretical and high-tech research and development investigations in salt lake and related fields, playing a unique and leading role in China salt lake science and technology.
