    1. RESEARCH GROUP

    Salt Lake Resources Efficient Separation and Technology Group

     

    2. BRIEF INTRODUCTION

            The research group aims at exploring the strategic needs of the national and local resources in the field of Salt Lake resources, and is guided by the needs of the national economy. It strengthens the application of basic research around the comprehensive and high-value utilization of potassium, sodium, boron and lithium resources in Salt Lakes. The experiments combine with application of Salt Lake resources, (Combined with applied research). mainly carry out the following parts: separation of high ratio of magnesium to lithium in salt lake, high-value utilization of magnesium and lithium resources, low-grade solid potassium mine resources and the conversion between solid and liquid phase, excavate and utilize of potassium and sodium resources to develop basic research on application of high-performance heat storage medium, and then do further engineering research on industrialization projects.
            The group has nineteen researchers currently, including one researcher, three associate researchers, six doctors and five masters. The head of the group is the director of the Salt Lake Resources Chemistry Laboratory, the PhD supervisor, the special allowance of the State Council, and academic leader of the natural sciences and technical Qinghai Province, technical expert of Chinese patent examination, expert of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association Lithium Branch, deputy director of China Inorganic Salt Industry Association molten salt storage professional committee, China Inorganic Salt Industry Association Deputy Director of the Functional Materials Committee, Editorial Board of Industrial Minerals & Processing, and Associate Editor of Salt Lake Research. The group has established cooperation and exchanges with many universities, research institutions and large and medium-sized enterprise.
            In recent years, the group has undertaken more than ten research program, such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences Local cooperation, the National Natural Science Foundation, Qinghai Science and Technology Support program, major special program and enterprise cooperation projects, and has got about tens of millions of research funding.
            The group has published dozens of SCI and EI articles, more than 30 patents have been applied for and authorized. They successfully developed an environmentally friendly and low-cost new method with independent intellectual property rights for separating and extracting lithium from high-magnesium-lithium of Salt Lake brine, which won the first prize of Science and Technology Progress of Qinghai Province; The cooperatively completed technology on low-grade potassium ore resource solid-liquid conversion won the third prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Qinghai Province. Relying on the sodium and potassium resources of the salt lake, a high-performance, high-purity series of nitrate molten salt heat storage materials are prepared and industrialized produce

    6.INTRODUCTION OF TEAM LEADER

            Basic information: Wang Min, chemical machinery, 13519750944, marliy001@163.com

    Introduction of team leader: Wang Min, Female, researcher, doctoral supervisor. She is an expert in the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Torch Program Review, the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association Lithium Branch, and the Chinese Patent Examination Technology. She is also the academic leader of the natural science and engineering technology discipline in Qinghai Province and a leading talent in the Qinghai Province 1000-person program, and enjoying special allowances from the State Council.

    She has been engaged in comprehensive development and research on for a long time, concluding utilization and industrialization of potassium, lithium, boron and magnesium resources in Salt Lake. In the past five years, she has actively carried out scientific research work, combined local resources with innovation closely. On the basis of adhering to the development of traditional Salt Lake resources, she focused on the development of high-value materials, especially the high-yield elemental energy materials in Salt Lake. She has done a lot of work on the theoretical research of photothermal energy storage materials based on Salt Lake resources and the practical application of coupling with solar energy, built a technical system for the green development and utilization of salt lake resources, and made great achievements in the comprehensive recycling technology of Salt Lake lithium resources and waste lithium batteries.

    Nearly five years, she has undertaken more than ten research topic in the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the local science and technology agency and enterprises. She has applied for more than 70 national invention patents in terms of scientific research results, including more than 30 patents authorized, 30 papers were published, and more than 15 papers were included in SCI/EI. Many of the standards she has participated in have been enacted, such as the National Standard for "Boron-magnesium fertilizer", the Group Standard for " Solar energy molten salt for energy storage", "Industrial boric acid", "Industrial Boride", the National standards for "Solar Molten Salt (Storage Energy)", and participate in the revision of the national standard of "Lithium Carbonate". In 2011, the “Key technology research on lithium extraction from Qinghai high magnesium lithium salt lake” in cooperation with Qinghai Lithium Industry Co., Ltd won the first prize of Qinghai Science and Technology Progress Award. The project won the Science and Technology Promotion and Development Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2016. In 2014, the “Low-grade potassium chloride mineral resource solid-state liquid technology in the east of Qarhan Railway” in co-operation with Golmud Zangge Potassium Fertilizer Co., Ltd. won the third prize of Qinghai Science and Technology Progress Award. In November 2018, the "Study on the comprehensive utilization technology of tailings and tail liquid of 2 million t/a KCl by-product" jointly cooperated with Golmud Tibetan Potassium Fertilizer Co., Ltd. won the Golden Bridge Award in China's technology market.
