    1. RESEARCH GROUP

    Evaporite Metallogenic System (EMS)

    2. BRIEF INTRODUCTION

The EMS research group in the Qinghai Institute of Salt Lakes, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ISL, CAS) is mainly engaged in: 1) elucidating the source-sink process of brine and evaporites, and the enrichment rules of strategic resource elements, such as potassium, lithium, boron, antimony, etc.; 2) reconstructing deep time paleoclimate conditions for evaporite formation; and 3) achieving green high-value comprehensive utilization of inorganic salt deposits. The research team currently has three professors, three associate professors, four assistant professors, two doctoral students, four master students, and twelve graduate students.

In recent years, the research team has undertaken more than 20 scientific research projects (basic research and applied research), including the National Key Basic Research and Development Program (973) sub-project, the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Youth Fund Project, the Applied Basic Research and Youth Fund projects of Qinghai Province, as well as the Chinese Academy of Sciences Youth Innovation Promotion Association and the Western Scholars projects. The research results have published more than forty papers in domestic and international academic journals such as Chemical Geology, Geoscience Frontier, Sedimentary Geology, Minerals, Progress in Physical Geography, Acta Geologica Sinica, Acta Geoscientic Sinica, Journal of Salt Lake Research, and authorized four invention patents.

The research team adheres to the concept of Modesty, Diligence, Honesty and Precision to carry out relevant scientific works, and strives to make innovative achievements and ultimately serve social and economic development on the basis of previous research.
