On August 16, the 30th “Salt Lake Science and Technology Forum” was held in the conference room on the sixth floor. Professor Wang Xuming from the University of Utah, USA, was invited to give a lecture. The forum was chaired by Wu Zhijian, deputy director of ISL.

Professor Wang Xuming gave a report titled "A New View of Surface and Interface". Professor Wang Xuming introduced the research direction, research history and research results of his research team. Combining his own research experience, he systematically described 3D X-Ray Micro CT, AFM, SFVS and molecular dynamics simulation techniques and their application in material surface/interface chemistry. His report, through a large amount of experimental data, shows the unique research ideas of new technology in material surface/interface chemistry, which is very inspiring to the participants. During the interactive session of the forum, the participants had a heated discussion and exchanges with Professor Wang around the theme of the lecture.
