From November 6th to 8th, the 2017 Academic Annual Meeting and Member Representative Conference of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was successfully held in Lanzhou. A total of more than 500 members from more than 110 institutions participated in the conference and more than 200 oral academic reports were presented. Sun Xiaoming, Director of the Personnel Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wang Tao, Dean of the Lanzhou Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xie Ming, Party Secretary of the Lanzhou Branch, Feng Qi, Vice President of the Northwest Institute of Eco-Environmental Resources, and the responsible comrades of the Talent Office of the Academy attended the invitation. At the opening ceremony of the conference, Wang Tao, Dean of the Lanzhou Branch, welcomed young scholars to Lanzhou to conduct exchanges and cooperation, and briefly introduced the overall situation of the Lanzhou Branch and the growth status of members of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of Lanzhou Branch. Afterwards, Liu Qian, the chairman of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association, did the annual work report of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association. Finally, Sun Xiaoming, director of the Personnel Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, made a speech. The academic annual meeting invited 6 outstanding scientists to make a special invitation to the conference.
