On June 15, ISL organized the 22th “Salt Lake Science and Technology Forum” in the Conference Room on the sixth floor of ISL. Professor Zhou Yiming, the director of Deep Sea Extreme Environment Simulation Research Laboratory, Institute of Deep Sea Science and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was invited to give a report. Forum was chaired by professor Song Pengsheng.
Professor Zhou Yiming mainly studies the stability and physico-chemical properties of minerals and gas hydrates (including natural gas hydrates) under different temperatures, pressures, coexisting fluid components and oxygen fugacities, physico-chemical properties of geologic fluids, minerals and geology Obtaining, Evaluating, and Applying Thermodynamic Data of Fluid. Made reports titled "Vapor Pressure, Chemical Equilibrium, Thermodynamics, and Earth and Planetary Science" and "Development of High Voltage Perspective Lasers and Their Geological Applications" and conducted an interactive discussion with researchers at Salt Lake. Researcher Zhou Yi-ming shared his own life experiences. From the research on the significance of hydrous metal sulphate minerals to earth science and planetary science, the stable solid-phase data of MgSO2-H2O system under different temperature and pressure conditions, the moisture buffer technology, magnesium sulfate heptahydrate - the experimental results of magnesium sulfate hexahydrate and magnesium sulfate hexahydrate - magnesium sulfate tetrahydrate equilibrium and its thermodynamic data were introduced in detail.
The forum had broadened the academic vision of scientific research personnel of ISL, deepened the understanding of the different research directions inside and outside, and the report also provided new ideas for the development of salt lake resources.
