On March 24, ISL organized the 20th “Salt Lake Science and Technology Forum” in the Conference Room on the sixth floor of ISL. Docter Alireza Asem from Ocean University of Chinawas invited to give reports. Forum was chaired by Li Fafu, the director of the salt lake resources and environment information.
Dr. Alireza Asem is mainly engaged in the study of biology and genetics of the Salt Lake Artemia, and gave a presentation entitled "Opportunities for biological studies in China salt lakes" and interacted with researchers of ISL. The report introduced the biodiversity and its gene expression process of Artemia salina, and discussed the prospect and direction of salt lake biology research, and expounded the opportunity of Chinese salt lake biological research. He mentioned in the report that China has rich salt and salt lake biological resources, but most of the biological, especially microbial resources have not been studied, due to climate change and human activities, some biological resources may disappear, it was recommended to strengthen this Research, and proposed the establishment of salt lake Artemia resources germplasm library.
The forum had broadened the academic vision of scientific research personnel of ISL, deepened the understanding of the different research directions inside and outside, and the report also provided new ideas for the development of salt lake resources.
