    ISL Organized the 13th “Salt Lake Science and Technology Forum”

    Aug 24, ISL organized the 13th “Salt Lake Science and Technology Forum” in the Conference Room on the sixth floor of ISL. Researcher Kun Huang from Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Bo Yang from Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences were invited to give reports. Forum was chaired by the deputy director Dongping Duan.

    Researcher Huang gave us a report named “large phase ratio extraction of low concentration of rare earth leaching solution”. The report introduced the characteristics and advantages of this new technology, design basis and magnifying verification of extraction tower. They have finished the key techniques of technology and device magnification and control technology in the process of pilot test. Large phase ratio extraction can also be used in rare earth smelting waste water. Finally, he introduced his idea and preliminary work on the extraction low concentration of lithium and boron from salt lake brine by large phase ratio extraction technology.

    Researcher Yang introduced ocean exploration and development technology from Jiaolong manned submersible. The report introduced highlights and acoustic detection of Jiaolong from overall situation, acoustic system and control system. Then he introduced research situation, main research fields and achievements of ocean acoustic technology laboratory of Institute of Acoustic and underwater robot of Shenyang Institute of Automation Chinese Academy of Sciences. He also mentioned that underwater acoustic communication network could relate isolates observation equipment, and achieved multiple sites, multidisciplinary and real-time collaborative observation. It can also be applied to detect salt lake resource type, location, etc.
