On Jan 13, ISL organized the 11th “Salt Lake Science and Technology Forum” in the Conference Room on the sixth floor of ISL. Professor Liang Fang from Chongqing University and Yahong Li from Soochow University were invited to give reports. Forum was chaired by the deputy director Dongping Duan.

Professor Fang obtained a PhD of Science in Chongqing University in 1998, work as a postdoctoral in Kyushu Institute of Technology between 2001-2003 and as a visiting scholar in Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, whose main research lies in transparent conductive semiconductor thin film such as ZnO, graphene, TiO2 and diamond preparation and its application in semiconductor lighting, solar batteries, lithium-ion battery etc. Professor Fang has undertaken more 30 projects. There are 7 National Natural Science Foundations of China and 15 provincial and ministerial projects. He has published more than 100 papers in sci journals. Professor Fang gave us a report named “Preparation of Nickel Matrix Hydroxide Composite Nanometer Materials by Laser Ablation in Liquid”. Professor Fang gave a brief introduction about the LAL preparation, construction, electrocatalysis and lithium battery electrode material of composite hydroxide nanometer materials. The report pointed out Laser Ablation in Liquid was a new preparation technique of nano materials, which was different from Pulsed Laser Deposition.

Professor Li obtained a PhD from Lanzhou University in 1999, as a postdoctoral in Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory of University of Oxford between 2000 and 2001. Professor Li gave us a report “organic synthesis reaction involved by metal and compounds contain salt lake elements”.
