    Researchers from ISL Attend Loess and Asian Dust Source Seminar

    From 27th to 28th, Researchers from ISL attend the 2013 loess and Asian dust source seminar which is hold by Nanjing University. The meeting covers the domain of loess, desert, lakes, glaciers, stalagmites, hydrology and oceans. Lai Zhongping is invited to give a key lecture, titled “Erosion of the Qaidam Basin”, he also hosts a branch meeting. Lai Zhongping talks about the the debate of ancient high lakes’ formation in Qinghai Tibet Plateau. New ideas are came up with when he is talk about the the formation and evolution of the saline lake and the transport mode of dust in atmospheric circulation.

    Doctor An Fuyuan gives an oral lecture on the separation of wind component, determination of source region and its evolutional meaning to saline lake in the Sedimentary sequence of Chaerhan saline lake, Qaidam Basin. In the report, he also introduces the method of separation of wind component, and discusses the change of wind component source region and its reflection to areal evolution of the atmospheric circulation and its meaning to the formation of salt lake.
