    Lecture: Multiplicity and Function of Brine Microbe Response to Environmental Change

    Professor Dong Hailiang, from Miami University, was invited by Lai Zhongping, the researcher of ISL, to give lecture at 9pm, on May.20, 2013 at ISL. The lecture was titled: multiplicity and function of brine microbe response to environmental change.

    The lecture was hosted by Lai Zhongping, who has cooperated with Dong Hailiang in the field of brine microbe since 2009, and combined training of the postgraduates. The bilateral meeting of the U.S.-China on brine microbe was hold successfully via the combined support of the United States National Natural Science Fund Committee and National Natural Science Foundation of China in August, 2011.

    Biography

    Professor Dong Hailiang is one of the world renowned geo-microbiologist who got the doctoral degree in University of Michigan, USA. He is the dean of the laboratory of geo-microbiology, Thousand scholar and Changjiang scholar in China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) and has got the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Overseas Outstanding Youth Fund in 2002. Two papers have been reported in the journal Science which were wrote by professor Dong Hailiang. He has engaged as the vice editor of the international journal Clays & Clay Minerals, Geomicrobiology Journal, and has been invited as the panel of United States National Natural Science Fund Committee, DoE and National Aeronautics and Space Administration Fund Committee.
