    Team of ISL Won the Technology Innovation Prize of the 6th Zhou Guangzhao Found

    On May 25, the sixth Zhou Guangzhao Found award ceremony was hold in the 15th annual meeting opening ceremony. Ma Peihua from ISL, led his research team, extraction of lithium in Qinghai salt lake, won the technology innovation prize. Xu Guanhua, the subchairman of Zhou Guangzhao reward committee, gave a speech in the meeting, Zhong Hande, the chairman of the Found who got the Turing prize in 2000 awarded the medal to the winner.

    The brine in Qinghai salt lake contains rich lithium resource. Qinghai is the key area of utilizing lithium production in China. Qinghai ISL has been research the basic theory of lithium extraction, technical skill, equipment optimizion, systemically research the technology problem of extracting lithium in the salt lake with high ration of magnesium and lithium by low cost, and got the national patent.

    While Ma Peihua worked in the ISL, he mainly engaged in the field of salt lake resource extraction, resource multipurpose use and inorganic material research. He has made contribution in salt lake chemical engineering on five aspects, providing engineering technology in building Qinghai salt lake Li industry and its development, exploiting the dehydration of magnesium resource and its multipurpose use in salt lake, starting the new high value processing area of brine resource and extending the brine chemical engineering industry line. In the aspect of impelling the multipurpose use of brine resource, he has done numerous technology organization work and cultivated talented people. With exceptional preciseness in work, ideologically active in academic, widely international cooperation, Ma Peihua enjoys the high popularity in his research field, and makes comprehensively contribution in national brine resource construction.

    Zhou Guangzhao Found award committee gave high appraisal to the research work of Ma Peihua, since the seventies, Ma Peihua has stayed in the salt lake area, performing the scientific research work in the inhospitable areas. He has become the academic leader in the field of national brine resource multipurpose use. The Qinghai salt lake extraction lithium research team which is led by him, has exploiting the independent intellectual property in lithium extraction with high ratio of magnesium and lithium, and building the first utilizing production line in magnesium and lithium world widely. The key core technology of this achievement provides the technology support in lithium extraction, and provides the technology foundation in national brine resource multipurpose use.
